HOPE FOR THE HEART | April 10, 2020
Adrian Rogers made this statement: “The OUTLOOK may be grim, but the UPLOOK is bright!”
We may need to work on our UPLOOK, looking toward Heaven, from whence Jesus is going to come. Philippians 3:20 “For our conversation is in heaven: from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.”
Have you ever considered the contrast between the Lord’s First Advent and His Second Advent? As we look heavenward for the Lord’s soon return, think about these Bible Truths:
1. At His First Advent, Jesus came as a helpless baby in a manager. Luke 2:10-12
*At His Second Advent, Christ returns as Monarch. Revelation 19:11-16
2. At His First Advent, Jesus came to suffer. I Peter 3:18
*At His Second Advent, Christ comes as Sovereign. Revelation 17:14
3. At His First Advent, Jesus was judged. John 18:28
*At His Second Advent, Christ will be JUDGE. II Timothy 4:1
4. At His First Advent, Jesus was executed. John 19:15-16
*At His Second Advent, Christ will be Exalted! Philippians 2:9-11
5. At His First Advent, Jesus put away sin. Hebrews 9:26
*At His Second Advent, Christ will put away Satan (forever!) Revelation 20:10
6. At His First Advent, Jesus came bearing a Cross. John 19:17
*At His Second Advent, Christ will come wearing Crowns! Revelation 19:12
7. At His First Advent, Jesus came in poverty. II Corinthians 8:9
*At His Second Advent, Christ is coming as Prince! Revelation 1:5
8. At His First Advent, Jesus came to Die. I Thessalonians 5:10
*At His Second Advent, Christ will conquer ALL Death! I Corinthians 15:26
9. At His First Advent, Jesus came offering peace. John 14:27
*At His Second Advent, Christ will make war. Revelation 19:11
10. At His First Advent, Jesus came as a Lamb. John 1:29
*At His Second Advent, Christ will come as a Lion. Revelation 5:5
