What We Believe

1. We believe the Holy Bible to be the infallible, verbally inspired Word of God. We further believe it to be preserved by God in the 1611 King James Version and reject all other modern versions. II Tim. 3:16, 17; II Peter 1:19-21

2. We believe there is only one true and living God, infinite and holy, the Maker and Supreme Ruler of Heaven and Earth, and worthy of all confidence and love; that in the unity of the Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit which are One in nature, attributes, power, and glory. I Cor. 8:6; I John 5:7; II Cor. 13:14; Is. 48:16

3. We believe that Jesus Christ was God’s only begotten Son, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, sinless in His life, making atonement for the sin of the world by His death on the cross. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into Heaven, His high priestly intercession for His people, and His personal, visible, and pre-millennial return to the world according to His promise. We, therefore, give Him pre-eminence as our divine Lord and Master. John 1:1,2; John 5:19-23; Matt. 1:20

4. We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person working harmoniously with the Father and the Son in salvation and in all the purposes of God. It is He who reproves the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He regenerates, sanctifies, and comforts those who believe in Jesus Christ as Savior. II Cor. 13:14; John 16:7-11; John 14:16-18

5. We believe the devil is a wicked person, the author of sin, the greatest enemy of God and mankind; and the “lake of fire and brimstone” will be his final doom. II Cor. 4:3, 4; Rev. 20:10

6. We believe man was created by the direct act of God, in innocence, and in the image of God; he fell from that state by voluntarily transgressing the revealed will of God, and, therefore, is under just condemnation to eternal death. Gen. 3; Rom. 5:10-19

7. We believe man has no merit or power to save himself from condemnation of sin; salvation is by the grace of God through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, who, on the cross, paid the price of man’s redemption. Acts 16:31; Eph. 2:8,9; Titus 3:5-7; Rom. 10:8-13

8. We believe it is impossible for saved people to be lost after salvation; the eternal security of the believer. John 10:28, 29; Phil. 1:6; Jude 24; II Tim. 2:19; Rom. 8:35-39

9. We believe Scriptural water baptism is the immersion in water of the saved person, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, by the authority of a New Testament Baptist Church, to show forth, in a solemn emblem, our faith in the crucified, buried, and risen Savior, and our death to sin and resurrection to a new life. Scriptural baptism constitutes church membership. Acts 8:36-39; Rom. 6:3-5; Matt. 28:19; Acts 2:41

10. We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of the Lord’s death; the bread symbolizing His broken body and the fruit of the vine symbolizing His blood. It is to be done in remembrance of Christ to show His death until He comes. The Lord’s Supper is to be observed by the local church only, to commemorate together the atoning love of Christ. Luke 22:19; I Cor. 11:26

11. We believe that Jesus Christ will personally, literally, return to the earth, gather all born again believers unto Himself and judge them for rewards, return with His saints after the tribulation, establishing His throne in Jerusalem and reigning on earth for one thousand years. I Thess. 4:13-18; II Cor 5:10; Rev. 19:11-16; Rev. 20:6

12. We believe in the resurrection of the bodies of the dead, both saved and unsaved in their respective order. The saved will be raised at the coming of the Lord in the Rapture; those saints alive at the Rapture will be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. Those that are raised and those that are transformed will meet the Lord in the air. The wicked dead will be raised at the close of the millennial reign and stand in their bodies at the Great White Throne judgment to receive their final doom. John 5:20-30; I Thess. 4:15-17; I Cor. 15:51-55; Rev. 20:11-15

13. We believe in the absolute separation of church and state, and that each individual has the right to choose his own religion without coercion by any. Matt. 22:21

14. We believe that the church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a local, visible, organized body of baptized believers; that Christ Himself founded the church; that He is to be glorified in the church during this age; and that the church shall someday be presented to Christ as a chaste virgin to be His bride. Matt. 16:18; Eph. 3:21; II Cor. 11:2

15. We believe in the “whosoever will” of the gospel. Upon hearing the gospel a person can respond in repentance and believing faith, or in rejection of the message. Matt. 11:28-30; John 6:37; Acts 20:21; Rev. 3:20; Rev. 22:17

Statement of Faith Concerning the Family

We believe that God created mankind male and female with the command and purpose to be fruitful, to multiply, and to replenish the earth. Accordingly, God ordained marriage exclusively as one male and one female becoming one flesh. (Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:3-9; Romans 7:2; Ephesians 5:22-32)

We believe that the marriage relationship was designed by God according to the Bible. Marriage is exclusively a special union of a man and a woman. Marriage is the foundation stone of civilization; it is to be centered in love and obedience; a permanent bond dissolved only by death; a means of procreation and a picture of Christ’s relationship with His Bride, the Church. (Genesis 1:27-28; Genesis 2:18-24; Genesis 4:1-2; Matthew 19:4-6; Romans 7:2-3; Ephesians 5:21-33)

We believe children, the natural fruit of God’s design of marriage, are a heritage of the Lord, to be taught spiritual and moral values by their parents, who are to rear them with loving discipline following the example and instruction of the Lord. (Genesis 33:5; Deuteronomy 6:6-7; Psalms 78:4-7; Psalms 127:3-5; Psalms 128:3-6; Proverbs 22:6; Ephesians 6:1-4; Hebrews 12:7-10)

We believe that God designed the marriage union for life and has provided for intimate sexual relations exclusively between husband and wife within the bonds of marriage; sexual relations outside of the bonds of marriage, including homosexuality, lesbianism, fornication, adultery, incest, sodomy, bestiality, among others alluded to in God’s Word, are a sin. We believe acts that defile God’s human creation, such as gender modification, through medical procedures or by appearance, and participation in the sexual degradation of others through pornography, are attacks against the family unit, are against the will of God, and are sins. (Genesis 2:24; Genesis 19:5-13; Leviticus 18:1-30; Romans 1:18-32; I Corinthians 6:6-10; I Corinthians 7:3-5; Hebrews 13:4; Ephesians 5:3-5; I Thessalonians 4:3-8)

We believe in the sanctity of human life. We believe human life begins at conception, and from conception through elderly adult years should be respected as a creation of God. We believe abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, suicide, assisted suicide, and other similar acts are acts of murder and therefore against the will of God. (Genesis 1:27; Exodus 20:13; Leviticus 19:32; Job 12:12; Psalms 139:13-14; Isaiah 44:2, 24; Jeremiah 1:5; Romans 9:20-22; I Timothy 5:1-2)
